Yuniesky Betancourt Works to Live Up to the Hype

Many Brewers fans decried the fact that the trade that brought Zack Greinke to Milwaukee also included shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt in exchange for Alcides Escobar. Since then Brewers officials have tried to argue that "Yuni" is not as bad as some would have you believe. Yuni certainly didn't help his cause on Thursday in the Brewers ten-inning loss to the Rockies, committing not one but two throwing errors to first base.

Even Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel, a former defender of Yuni, this week cited his "lazy mechanics" when it comes to fielding. Jaymes Langrehr of The Brewers Bar, meanwhile, coined the excellent nickname, Yun-E6. One thing is for sure, lazy plays and an increasing number of errors at shortstop only helps Yun-E6 live up to his hype -- and not in a good way.
