5 Things to Hope For in a Brewers New Year, Part 1

With the new year upon us I've come up with a list of five things, in no particular order, to hope for from the Brewers in 2013. I will serially publish each post over the next week or so.

1. Continuation of last year's offense

The 2012 Brewers led the league in R (776), HR (202), SB (158), and SLG (.437), were second in OPS (.762), and fifth in both AVG (.259) and OBP (.325). This helped them win 83 games in spite of a bullpen that ranked at or near the bottom of the Majors in losses, blown saves, and ERA. With the entire starting lineup returning this season there's no reason to think they won't again put up offensive numbers near the top of the league, especially if Rickie Weeks hits as we've come to expect him to over the course of the entire season.

Here's how I project this year's lineup:

Rickie Weeks
Norichika Aoki
Ryan Braun
Aramis Ramirez
Corey Hart
Jonathan Lucroy
Carlos Gomez
Jean Segura
Pitcher

Not too shabby, eh?
